भारत के पड़ोसी और हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र के उन सात देशों के नेताओं में मुइज्जू और जगन्नाथ शामिल हैं, जो आज शाम राष्ट्रपति भवन में मोदी और उनके मंत्रिपरिषद के शपथ ग्रहण समारोह में हिस्सा ले रहे हैं। विदेश मंत्रालय के प्रवक्ता रणधीर जायसवाल ने बताया कि मालदीव के राष्ट्रपति का प्रधानमंत्री और मंत्रिपरिषद के शपथ ग्रहण समारोह में हिस्सा लेने के लिए नई दिल्ली पहुंचने पर गर्मजोशी से स्वागत किया गया। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत और मालदीव समुद्री साझेदार और करीबी पड़ोसी हैं।
