JSW Group appoints Ananya Sharma as senior vice president – legal – ET Infra



JSW Group has announced the appointment of Ananya Sharma as Senior Vice President – Legal. In this role, Sharma will join the India Leadership Team, bringing her extensive experience from the legal sector to one of India’s leading conglomerates.

Sharma transitions to JSW Group from her position as a partner at AZB & Partners, a prominent law firm in Mumbai. Her legal career has been marked by significant advisory roles for international pension and sovereign funds, focusing on real estate and infrastructure transactions. Her work has included key projects such as advising Ivanhoe Cambridge on real estate acquisitions and partnerships, and GIC Singapore on investments in the hospitality and retail sectors.

In addition to her real estate expertise, Sharma has been involved in major infrastructure projects, advising on developments in roads, power transmission, and solar power. Her role has included guiding clients through complex acquisitions, financings, and joint ventures in the Indian market.

Recognized for her contributions to the legal field, Sharma has been named a ‘Notable Practitioner’ for M&A by IFLR 1000 multiple times. She holds an LL.B and a Bachelor of Social and Legal Sciences from Symbiosis Society’s Law College, Pune. Her professional affiliations include the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa, the Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and the Sweden India Business Council.
